Good Bye 2010

2010 has been a great year for me because I have learnt a lot about Challenge and of other topics.

I have enjoyed....

• Reading chapter books
• Writing proceeds
• Learning division and times facts faster

I have enjoyed a lot more things this year.

I'm exited about been a year four next year. I hope I am a year four leader next year I really want to be one.

Penguins

Penguins live around islands in the southern oceans.

The emperor penguin places their egg on their feet to keep them warm. They also have turns to guard their eggs while the other goes and gets food.

Skuas are mean and fierce, they can be harmful to penguins eggs. Sometimes they get eaten by killer whales.

Penguins are fluffy, endangered animals.

I like the way you are taking part in your Literature circle by discussing your ideas about the novel and clarifying your understanding of the novel by asking questions.
You have worked hard in maths to solve addition problems like 36 + ? = 88 by adding the ones and the tens.

Our practices for the jump jam competition are going well. You are working hard to perform using strong movements and smiling at the same time!! 5 weeks to go!!!!

Yeast and sugar exprment

The balloon inflated because the sugar fed the yeast and made co2 gas which progosted more yeast and co2 gas. The co2 gas went into the the balloon which inflated the balloon and made the balloon bigger.

MAKING BREAD!!!!!!

On wednesday room 7 made bread.

1. First we had to get the ingredients and they were....
Oil,milk powder,flour,yest,sugar,salt and the bread tin {you may be thinking ''ew yuck salt and sugar''} but it puts the flavour into the bread.

2.First we had to put the 4cups of flour in the bread tin.
3.Then we put 3Tsps of oil in the bread tin.
4.Put the tin in the bread maker
5.leave for 3 hours

6.After 4 hours in the bread maker take it out and let it cool

7.cut the bread and enjoy!!!!

Why Some Liuqds Don't Mix

Hi. Ariana here and in room7 on Wednesday the 25.8.10 we did a experiment that was pretty interesting because did you know that water is not lighter than oil. In the photo it shows on the left hand side it shows oil is lighter than water but we thought water was liter than oil.

In maths we have been learning about money and adding money.We have also been learning to give the right amount of change.

Maths art is ruling lines and putting it into art.

Dictation is when we listen to a short sentences and as Mrs McIndoe reads we try spell it right.

Onomatopoeia's are words that sound the way there spelt.

Hi my name is Ariana and I have been learning about fractions.
I am learning to find fractions of numbers.
1/4 of 12 is 3 I know that it is 3 because 1/2 of 12 is 6 and 1/2 of 6 is 3 so that is how I solved it.

This is my writing..

Snowy, cold winter coming so slowly. Slippery, cold winter ice. Trees covered in white snow. Heaps of wind quickly comes and goes. Everyone has big jackats and heaps of warm clothes to wear. The snowflakes are falling to the ground and cover the roads and footpaths.

The blue words are adverbs.

The green is describing words (adjectives)

The purple is people, placers or things (nouns)

The orange are verbs.

My Disaster

I am learning to research a NZ disaster. I researched the cave creek. I learnt that the bridge wasn't strong enough and now they build bridges stronger and have sings and the some times say "only this many people.

MY MATHS

Hi. I'm Ariana and i'm learing how many tens and ones are in two digit numbers I am also learing to subtract tens aswell. I am in the parallgrams goup. We quit ofton do work sheets to do with subtracting tens.

Our trip to the marae

On June the 10th rooms 1,2,4,7 and 9 went on a marae trip at the Waikato university.
We got there by bus. We where singing some maroi songs on the way.It was really cool when we sung songs we had't sung in a long time.
When we got to the mare we where welcomed with a powhiri. We had to walk slow when we where welcomed. When they had finished welcoming us we went in the marae but before we could go in the marae we had to take off our shoes when I got in the marae I was amazed what was in the marae there was really cool patterns.

I had a really cool time at the marae.
