Term 3

This term I am looking forward to Wacky Olympics, the Production and Cross Country. I would like to improve in my math and spelling. One thing I would like to do do this term is to get our 20 marbles in the jar so we can get a reward.

Plurals

In room 12 we have been learning a lot about plurals. We have been taught to  put (es) on the end of words like church and if you put (es) on the end church becomes churches.You only put (s) on the end of words if there is a volwel plus a (y) on the end of a word.   
 The plurals that I find the easiest are putting (es) on the end of words. For an example match means just one but if I put (es) on the end the word will be changed to matches so now the words mean more than one.

My Speech

In term 2 the senior syndicate wrote and presented a speech to our classes. Our speeches had to be on a discovery or a discoverer. My speech was about Albert Einstein. I think I had good information and I used a bit of expression. I also used pictures. I could have made my speech a bit more humorous and I needed more information about what he did. I learnt that Albert Einstein was kicked out of two schools because of the practical jokes he played.

Remembrance Assembly

In week 6 room12 had a remembrance assembly. In the assembly there were two mad scientists who had built a time machine and four kids had volunteered  to go time travelling. The time travellers went through the war time. For the time travelers to go through time room 12 was split onto groups and acted out war plays.

My favourite part of our assembly was being a time traveller and travelling through time.

Remembrance

This term in room 12 our big idea is Remembrance and with our big idea we learnt about the ANZAC soldiers. When the soldiers went to war they were given ration packs. The ration packs contained Bully beef, rice, cocoa, jam, tea, bread and hard tack. The food they could eat was very limited because of the lack of refrigeration on the boat and at war.

Gym Sports

On Monday 2nd of April room 12 went to gym sports to learn some basics about gymnastics. In the gym session we did bunny hops, a mini vault, walking up the wall with our feet to handstand, scorpion kicks, candle stands, forward rolls and landing. What I found challenging was doing the bunny hops because I kept wanting to go to handstand. Some tips I could give to you are to keep tight and that will help you with all you moves. Also have fun!

Roman Numerals Poster

Dean and I have been working on a Roman Numerals poster. We have been learning about Roman Numerals and we thought we could put our learning together to make a poster. On our poster we had a chart to stick on our poster so people could get an idea of Roman Numerals. There where Roman Numerals from 1 to 100 in Roman with an English translation next to the number. We also put some facts about Roman Numerals and a Roman clock.
