I am learning to solve addition problems by going back through the tens. 34-7=47 (34-4+30-3=47) 65-8=57 (65-5=60-3=57) 72-9=63 (72-2=70-7=63 83-8=75 (83-3=80-5=75) 132-7=125 (132-2=130-5=125) 271-8=263 (271-1=270-7=263) 393-6=387 (393-3=390-3=387)
I solved these problems by going back to a tidy ten. Then I took away the one that I had left.
You have worked really hard this term and are a wonderful role model! You are supporting the year 3 children in following the golden rules so hopefully you will be chosen as a year 4 leader for term 2! You are working really hard in maths. Keep working on recalling your times tables and division facts.
On Tuesday the 12th of April lady called Maggie came to our school to talk to us about solar power. We learnt a lot about solar panels. Solar panels can be used for many different things some can power a whole house. I learnt that a microwave uses 750 Wat's a kettle uses 1400 Wat's, toaster use 400 Whets a and a flat screen TV uses 200 to 400 Wat's then a laptop uses 45 Whets a and a hairdryer uses 1600. Well that's all I learnt form Maggie.
